Second Chance

For some patients who have had surgery in the past, weight has come back, usually due to a combination of factors including behavioral, anatomical, and psychological. Our Revision Clinic will assess each patient as a whole and determine the best path forward to get back on track. This path usually involves nutritional coaching, psychologic support and, at times, another surgery.

For other patients, a long-term complication may have developed related to their initial bariatric surgery. For those patients, a corrective surgery may be needed.

Complex Surgery

Revision surgeries are more complex than primary or initial procedures and are usually associated with a higher risk of complications. Seeking an experienced team is very important in order to try to minimize those risks. Our surgeons have a broad experience with revision surgery and routinely perform revisions of prior gastric bands, sleeve gastrectomies, gastric bypasses and duodenal switches.
