GALLBLADDER SURGERY
Removal of the gallbladder is one of the more common surgeries. It is most often done for gallstones that are causing symptoms. The surgery is performed laparoscopically or robotically as an outpatient. We utilize the latest techniques, including special fluorescence imaging (indocyanine green) during surgery to allow superior visualization of the bile duct and reduce risk of complications.
If you need gallbladder surgery (or cholecystectomy), schedule a consultation with us.
HELLER MYOTOMY
This procedure is done for patient suffering from a condition called achalasia. In this condition, the esophagus lacks the ability to propel food down to the stomach and the valve between the esophagus and the stomach is tight and does not open properly.
The Heller myotome consist of dividing the muscle fibers of the lower esophageal sphincter in order to release that tight valve and relieve the blockage. This results in a significant decrease in symptoms and an improved quality of life for our patients. We perform this procedure laparoscopically or robotically.
If you are suffering from achalasia and want to learn more about the Heller myotomy, schedule a consultation with us.
GASTRO-INTESTINAL TUMORS
Benign and cancerous tumors of the stomach or small intestine often require surgery to remove them along with part of that organ. The extent of the surgery depends on the type and location of the tumor. Even the most extensive surgeries can be performed using minimally invasive techniques which allows for a much faster convalescence.
If you have been diagnosed with a GI tumor, have been told you need surgery or just want to get a second opinion, schedule a consultation with us.
